Reducing of Drug Abuse

Drug is all of substance except food and water that if we put in the body can change the body function physically and psychologically (WHO 1982). Recently, drug is distributed in Indonesia. There were five millions people who use it in 2012. The users are not only from rich people, but also from middle and poor people. Based on the result research of BNN in 2003 about the users drug around student in Senior High School, there were 67% student who never tried drug, 27% student ever tried and 6% student still used it. It becomes a concern phenomena. If this negative phenomena is not been destroyed directly, it can damage young generation. There are some steps or strategies for reducing of drug abuse.

The first is parent have to give example of good personality for their children. Using drug is one kind of teenager mischief. BNN ever did a research for respondents of drug abuse, 3 from 10 respondents were still 15-18 years old. Parent must pay attention about it. Do you know the highest reason why student use drug? Based on BNN research in 2003, the highest reason of using drug is feeling curious. But it can happen because the condition of their family. Reasons why children use it because they want to forget the problem in their family. Parent should get along with their couple well to prevent depression for children. They also explain some negative effects of using drug. Besides, parent do not only give advice, but also they have to take action. For example, they ask to their children not to do smoking, so they (especially father) must give example.

The second strategy is programs from police. Police have to take action. They arrange some steps for reducing this problem. For example, police must do raid in some places, such us club,karaoke,boarding house and some other places that are guessed for using drug. The other example is police do cooperation with some schools to hold seminar of drug. It can be medium for sharing information about drug.

The last is from the government's policy. Government make program to eliminate drug abuse. They have to give punishment clearly for distributors and do strong commitment. Government ever did shot punishment for drug case and President Jokowi did not give grasi for them. It is a good strategy for damaging drug abuse.

In short those some strategies must be developed clearly to decrease of using drug. We have to cooperate to save our country from that devil things. Dont let drug damage our future.
